Hi! I promised myself to write something every day this week, and I am already off to a good start. I am off from work today, and I sat myself down. After a few sprints, I've got a few words rolling! When you write, do you usually time yourself, like with a sprint, or do you simply write?

Hello my darlings! I've been struggling a little bit with my writing for a while. Well, since 2025 began, to be honest. But I feel like with this new dystopian sci-fi idea that I got, I have more motivation to actually write. Instead, I'm lacking discipline. I have the time, but instead of taking the time to write, I crochet or play games. Which, in all honesty, are also my hobbies. It's not a bad way to make use of my time, but I think I need to get into the roll of writing again. To just do it every night and make it a habit. So, I'm going to try and write every day for the entirety of next week. It doesn't matter if it's a few hundred words or not even ten, but I am going to sit by my laptop and try at the very least. Hello lovelies! I just wanted to pop in and talk a little bit about trying to write books or stories while having a full-time job. It takes a lot of effort, and things go a lot slower because of it. There's nothing I wish more than to be able to live on my writing. I dream about becoming a published author, to release books that not only excite but also move readers. But this takes a lot of time and effort. And sometimes I feel like I fall short on the writing part, simply because I don't have enough time, or because I'm too tired to write after work. I don't really know where I'm going with this post, more than to say that we are a lot of people in the same boat. Many of us dream about writing a book and having the chance to earn a living on it, but have to continue our "normal" jobs instead. One thing I try to remember is that I write for myself. I write to express myself and to be creative. I want to make something of my own, and regardless if my writing ends up published, I'll stil

Does anyone else love the dystopian genre? I cannot get enough of books like Hunger Games, Divergent, Maze Runner and so on. There's just something about imagining a world where everything has gone wrong that gets me going! That is one of the biggest reasons why I decided to start my own work in progress, a dystopian sci-fi book. I want to include adventure, secrets, strong characters and class differences. And Space. Let's not forget the amazingness that is space. Dystopian books is great to showcase problems in the world, and what would happen if these were to come even worse. I've recently started writing my first novel ... Or ... well, that's techinically a lie, because I have a half written one as well, which I seem to have abandoned for now. But! The beauty of it is that I can always come back for it later on. Right now I feel motivated and focused on this new project, a Dystopian novel set in space, a strong female character who thrives against all odds! What I am still debating, however, is if I should write it in English or in Swedish. The problem with writing it in English is that I will have a harder time correcting the grammar, but writing in Swedish will mean a smaller community. I've started it in Swedish for now, and I think I'll continue writing it in Swedish, but then when I've finished it I'll try to translate it into English.
